Inalpi: sustainability for development
Inalpi: 148 million investments in sustainability and development
The recent history of Inalpi SpA, a dairy company in Moretta (Cuneo), began in 1966, within the MAB – Man and Biosphere area – protected by Unesco because it is recognized as an area that offers the ideal relationship between human life and the use of natural resources. Today Inalpi SpA is the leading Piedmontese player in the milk market, thanks to a short and controlled supply chain established ten years ago and made up of over 300 suppliers located mainly between the provinces of Turin and Cuneo, within a medium radius of the Moretta di about 30 km, which provide, on average, 6,500 quintals of milk per day.
A supply chain that is based on a rigid protocol, shared and signed by each farmer, which takes into account fundamental parameters such as animal welfare, protection of the soil and water resources, the quality of the raw material, and the protection of workers’ rights.
And one of the elements that distinguishes the short and certified Inalpi supply chain is undoubtedly the mechanism, which is the first, and still unique in Italy today, applied for remuneration. An indexed system, based on an algorithm created in 2010, in collaboration with the Faculty of Agriculture of the University of Piacenza, guarantees fair and transparent relations with all contributors, allowing programming and planning. An innovative system that, through the achievement of common objectives, creates a team of actors who move towards a single goal, the one that leads to the production of high-quality raw material and that allows the growth and development of a community.
Inalpi SpA, which closed its 2020 turnover at 174 million euros, operates in the industrial channels, thanks to agreements with the main market players, mass market retail and Ho.Re.Ca, both nationally and internationally, where it is present both in the European market, in particular in France, Germany, Holland and in the Far East market (China, South Korea, Vietnam, Thailand, Taiwan, Hong Kong).
Today Inalpi is part of the group of realities that, also through a far-sighted company policy, knows how to look to the future with attentive eyes to the future, thus fully embracing the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), the 17 objectives set by the 2030 Agenda of the UN and signed by 193 member countries, which constitute a call to action to end poverty, improve health and education, reduce inequalities, and protect our planet with sustainable initiatives that respect the environment.

In fact, with a 2021 – 2025 investment plan of 148 million euros, Inalpi focuses its growth for the future with structural and innovative expansion interventions, with the construction of the second spray tower and the construction of a modern dairy, but also to complete an important path of sustainability, through actions for the protection of water resources and the production of sustainable energy, continuing a path started some time ago, to become more and more a modern reality in the sector.
